High Viscosity Products Purification.

3V Tech offers various solution for the purification and concentration of viscous and highly viscous products, as well as products that for other reasons are very temperature sensitive. Depending on the composition of the stream, different technologies can be applied, but the core process will always remain the evaporation/distillation. 

The recovery process takes place at temperature and vacuum conditions determined after testing. High concentration level can be reached, up to a complete desolventization of the product.

High viscosity products purification technologies address the needs of various industrial sectors, from polymers production, plastic recycling to lecithin production for food.

High viscosity products purification usually consists of several stages, depending on the nature of the solvent/s to be removed and of the product to be purified: typical configuration include:       

  • Flash unit followed by a Thin Film Evaporator
  • Thin Film Evaporator followed by a Short Path Evaporator

A purification plant for high viscosity products needs the following utilities and plant design will take into consideration their (un)availability at site: 

  • Electricity
  • Steam or hot oil
  • Instrument air
  • Cooling water
